What causes a generator (alternator) to demagnetize, and how should it be addressed?

If a generator (alternator) is left unused for an extended period, the residual magnetism in the core present at the time of manufacture will be lost, preventing the excitation coil from generating the necessary magnetic field. In this case, the generator will run normally but will be unable to generate electricity. For many new units or units that have not been used for a long time, follow these steps:

1) If there is an excitation button, press it.

2) Use a battery to magnetize the unit if there is no excitation button.

3) Run the unit for a few seconds with an overloaded light bulb.
